The Truth – Is Jet Skiing Dangerous?

Is Jet Skiing Dangerous?

As you know, it’s hot in the Vegas area, and we understand that the clubs, restaurants, and shopping centers all tend to blur together after a little while. You’re looking for something fun to shake it up a little, especially as temperatures climb well into and above the 90-degree range. You’re tempted by the glistening blue water, the sun, the wind – but you want to know: what are the risks of jet skis? Are speedboats really safe? Sure, they’re fast, powerful, and exciting, but is the fun worth taking the chance of injury?

We at Adventure Excursions in the greater Las Vegas area completely understand your concerns and take them very seriously. We know that with most outdoor activities, jet skis and boat rentals can definitely pose a risk. That’s why we recommend taking a Boater Safety Course before renting any watercraft if you’re not the most experienced. Taking a class in boating education or water safety will help you feel prepared to deal with any emergencies; most importantly, it will arm you with everything you need to know to prevent those emergencies before they happen.

Aside from taking a class, we want to make sure you understand at the most of basic of levels that as long as all passengers are acting responsibly, the risk of any injury is minimal. Even before fun and excitement, your safety is our top priority. That’s why our Jetski rental Las Vegas cannot be rented by anyone under the age of 25, nor operated by anyone under the age of 14. Minors under the age of 18 may not operate any the watercraft unless a parent or legal guardian figure signs a consent form, and all child passengers must be accompanied and registered by an adult. If all people act responsibly and do not take any measures to distract or disorient the person operating the craft, there is nothing to be worried about.

If you really think about it, you’ll realize that there are dangerous things people do every day. Driving a car is likely the closest example – except our boats are generally smaller and weigh less than most cars. Additionally, when you’re out on the lake, there are far less obstacles to worry about than you would find on a typical street. You also have nothing to fear from the water, as our trained personnel are aware of your presence on Lake Mead and will be expecting you to return – you can count us to come looking if anything goes wrong. Before you go out on the water, we’ll give you a short safety briefing and answer any of your questions and do our best to put your concerns to rest.

All in all, jet skiing and motorboat rentals are no more dangerous than most outdoor activities. As long as all the participants are being responsible there is no cause for fear. Please feel free to reach out and voice any last concerns you may have. We don’t want anything to stop you from an unforgettable day out on the lake!
